Pregnancy can bring changes to the skin, including sensitivity, dryness, breakouts, redness, and pigmentation. At Skin House, we customize every facial during pregnancy with extra care, focusing on calming, hydrating, and supporting the skin barrier while avoiding ingredients and technologies that are not recommended.

Please let us know if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding before your appointment so we can safely adjust your treatment.

Can I get a facial while pregnant?

Yes. Many facials can be enjoyed during pregnancy when they are properly customized. We adjust products, ingredients, and treatment steps based on your skin, comfort level, and pregnancy stage.

Should I tell my esthetician I’m pregnant?

Yes. Please let us know when booking or before your treatment begins. This allows us to avoid contraindicated ingredients and technologies and choose the safest options for your skin.

Can pregnancy affect my skin?

Yes. Hormonal changes may cause breakouts, dryness, sensitivity, redness, or pigmentation. Your facial will be customized to support your skin gently during this time.

What treatments are avoided during pregnancy?

Out of caution, we do not perform RF, microneedling, laser, or microcurrent treatments during pregnancy.

What ingredients should I avoid during pregnancy?

We avoid ingredients such as retinol/retinoids, hydroquinone, strong chemical peels, high-dose salicylic acid, and certain highly active ingredients unless cleared by your provider.

What ingredients are generally pregnancy-friendly?

Hydrating and calming ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C, azelaic acid, and gentle lactic acid may be used depending on your skin and sensitivity.

What facial do you recommend during pregnancy?

We recommend a customized pregnancy-conscious facial focused on hydration, calming inflammation, gentle exfoliation, extractions if appropriate, and barrier support.
